
As an organisation, we predicted as far back as 2008, that the issue of a national fitness standard had the potential to create a massive problem with the recruitment and retention of On-Call staff and we are the only representative body that chose not to sign up to the CFOA national fitness standard of 42.3Vo2 max.
Secondly, on the subject of On-Call staff migrating to a full-time role, this is another issue that differentiates us from other unions in the fire service.
