It was pleasing to see the contribution from Fire Service personnel acknowledged and rewarded within the Queen's Birthday Honours list published on Saturday, our congratulations go out to:

David King – Retained Firefighter in South Wales Fire and Rescue Service who was awarded the MBE for his charitable services and for services to the community in Porthcawl, Bridgend.

Keith Stringer, Station Manager at Helston Fire Station, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, who was awarded the MBE for services to the community and to Young People in Cornwall.

Clive Williams, Station Manager at St Just Fire Station, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, who was awarded the MBE for services to the Fire and Rescue Service and to the local community.

Anthony (Tony) Linney. Retained Watch Manager, Scottish fire and rescue service (Fife area) who was awarded the Queens Fire Service Medal (QFSM).

Paul Souden. Retained Crew Manager, Scottish fire and rescue service (Strathclyde area) who was awarded the Queens Fire Service Medal (QFSM).
