Age Discrimination - Remedy

Following on from our most recent article on the successful age discrimination claim, we can confirm that there have been two meetings of the ‘Remedy Proposals Working Group’, a sub-group of the Scheme Advisory Board (SAB).

The discussion between the group (which includes representatives from employers, employees and specialist advisers) has been productive with broad agreement on general points. It would be unhelpful to provide too much detail at this point until the principles have been signed off by the SAB. However, our expectation is that all transitional staff will be placed back into their old pension scheme, with an options exercise taking place at some point in the future.

We will provide further details after the next meeting of the working group which is due to take place on 26 February 2020.
