Our commitment to you

The Fire and Rescue Services Association (FRSA) is a member-led organisation committed to protecting and modernising the terms and conditions, health & wellbeing support and working practices within the fire and rescue service.

As a member, you can rely on the Association as a firm but professional representative body that will support you throughout your career and fight your corner. We have made it our mission to support, protect and listen to our members throughout their career.

We believe that everybody has a right to be heard although not every member is the same, which is why we don’t offer a one size fits all solution; at the Association, we’re dedicated to providing a personalised service to each of our members.

The Association has a no-strike constitution, our members will not put their communities at risk, and we prefer the power of argument rather than the argument of power.

We believe in the power of negotiation and legal action, not strike action to protect the interests and concerns of our members. Our members are as dedicated to protecting their communities as they are passionate about pursuing a fair and rewarding workplace.

As a member of the Association you will have direct access to our benefits scheme ‘FRSA Rewards’ which includes discounted rates of products and services across the UK.

Membership of the Association provides exclusive entitlement to join our unique Accidental Injury, Illness and Death Insurance Scheme specifically designed for emergency service employees.

All members who are involved in the disciplinary process will be afforded representation, irrespective of the allegations against them, we will not judge our members – guaranteed.

We provide members with a legal service for their fire service employment and indemnify against ALL legal costs – guaranteed.

We also provide members with legal advice and support for their non-fire service occupation.

We oppose direct and indirect discrimination on the grounds of disability, ethnicity or national origin, colour, race, gender, marital status, domestic circumstances, age and sexual orientation.

The Association represents members at a national level, taking a seat on ALL stakeholder groups including matters relating to Fire Service Pension Schemes, Health and Safety, Equality and Inclusion, PPE, CBRNe, Operational Guidance etc.

Local representation will be provided by local officials who are trained and have the necessary knowledge and experience to ensure that you receive a first class service.
