National Frameworks – Fire & Rescue
The national framework sets out the government’s expectations and requirements for fire and rescue authorities in England.
The government has a duty under the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 to produce the framework and keep it current. The Home Secretary reports every 2 years on fire and rescue authorities’ compliance with the framework.
The Fire and Rescue Framework for Scotland 2016 is a statutory document which sets out priorities for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) in the carrying out of its statutory and other functions.
Under the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004, the Welsh Ministers are required to report every two years on how far FRAs have acted in accordance with the Framework. This report shows both FRA activity and the support provided by the Welsh Government in sustaining and improving fire and rescue services in Wales.
