Co-Responding Schemesdefibrillator_450x508

For almost 20 years the RFU has supported the introduction of Co-Responder schemes across the country and there are now more in operation than ever before. We firmly believe that these schemes are in the interests of the public, the fire and rescue service and firefighters alike.

As emergency service employees we are in the business of saving lives and clinical evidence proves that patients in a life-threatening situation, who receive rapid intervention, have a better chance of survival.

While the RFU actively promotes and supports our members being involved in Co-Responder schemes it is disappointing that the FBU continue to be opposed to the initiative with their policy agreed in 2001 still being enforced.

It is with this in mind that we ask those personnel who are Co-responders but not members of the RFU whether you can be sure that you are guaranteed representation, support and advice should anything go wrong during a co-responder call.

We have a page on our website dedicated to providing information about the benefits of Co-responding and would be happy to answer any questions potential members have specifically about the support we could provide.  You can contact us via email or telephone 01953 455005.
