CFOA Services Ltd are holding their annual ‘On-Call’ conference takes place on 6th and 7th March 2014 at Forest Pines Hotel, Lincolnshire.

The event will focus on the increasingly significant role being played by ‘on-call’ staff for many fire & rescue services, and gives an opportunity for FRS to share good practice and to learn from the experiences from those within the sector and from those from other sectors who also base their service delivery models on part-time/on-call staff.

Over the two days there will be keynote addresses from Fire Minister Brandon Lewis, former Chief Fire & Rescue Advisor Sir Ken Knight, and CFOA President Paul Fuller on the future of the FRS and the important role played by ‘on-call’ fire fighters now and going forward.

Case studies will demonstrate a range of subjects including initial training and on-going maintenance of competence and the use of apprenticeships in the FRS. The RNLI will give a presentation on how they recruit and retain their volunteer lifeboat crews.

The conference is aimed at Strategic Managers with responsibility for RDS issues and RDS/On Call Liaison Officers. RDS Supervisory/Middle Managers are also invited as well as those FRA Members who have a specific interest or responsibility for RDS issues in their FRS. Other individuals such as those in HR or Operations who link into the RDS will also find value in attending.
