National Bulletin - New Appointment

National Branch Recruitment and Development Officer appointed

The FRSA are very pleased to announce our new Head of Branch Recruitment and Development, Anthony Morgan to the FRSA.

Anthony has been involved in the FRSA for over 27 years as a member, local official and latterly national official of the union and will provide a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.

Initially part of his role will be to introduce himself to our network of local officials but ultimately Anthony will be visiting fire stations to speak with firefighters to make them aware of the vast range of benefits available to members and demonstrate the work both locally and nationally that we are undertaking on their behalf but importantly, he will listen to their views on how their services are run and what they expect from their representative body. We are and always will be a member-led organisation.

On being appointed to the role Anthony said:

“It is a great privilege to be given the opportunity to take on this role and I’m excited to get out and about to meet our members, principal officers and firefighters in general to share our ideas, exchange views on what the needs of our members are and to ensure we are providing members with the necessary support.

If you would like me to visit your station for an informal chat you can contact me via email or mobile (07852 232166).”

FRSA Noticeboards

The FRSA has a facilities agreement in every FRS where it has a recognition agreement with the local service/authority, this includes the use of a noticeboard on every fire station. If your station doesn’t have one and would be interested in having one, either contact your local FRSA official or FRSA HQ and we will be happy to provide one.

Represent the FRSA in your service

We are always willing to hear from members who are interested in joining our network of local officials that represent members within their own fire and rescue service. The contribution these officials make can literally be life-changing for members and is a very rewarding role which attracts payment for trade union duties. Training is provided by the Association and a mentoring arrangement is available, although the key attribute is your experience as an operational firefighter!

Our offer to you

A new information leaflet is available encapsulating the key benefits of being a member of the FRSA. The document is available via our website and we would recommend that this is shared with your colleagues on station.
